Re: [SPOILER] Insane Attack Speed
As long as it's not possible to happen outside of a special Toorum run, once he's got level 50 swords, and using a potion then I don't see how it would affect game balance. However if everybody designing custom dungeons had to worry about potions of speed because that might happen, then it'd be diff...

Re: "Backwards-compatible" Vitality
Without a retrospective increase in hps a late game increase in vitality would do virtually nothing. With a retrospective increase it would have a minor effect. Stats like str or dex which would affect chance to hit or damage would have the same effect as a retrospective vitality increase.

Re: 1.1.4 Patch Progress
I believe that vsync throttles your fps to that of your monitor, LCD/LED 60fps. it's vsync that prevents tearing, which is a result of your fps running faster than your monitors refresh rate can handle. That is exactly right. Vsync should be enough for the vast majority of people to limit frame rat...

Re: Reverse engineering (was:Temporary modding) thread
So, ok, you're saying that we should allow overriding any file if it's placed in the correct subdirectory under grimrock. We could consider this but why not then add an extra step: - repackage the modified files into a new dat file that's loaded by the game This way it would be easy for the user of...

Re: "Backwards-compatible" Vitality
D&D originally had you rolling for hps as you levelled, and rolling for stats when you created a character. It was a big mistake, and one they spent ages fudging in the rules time after time until they eventually came up with a point-buy system. Rolling 1 at first level for a mage on the d4 for ...

Re: "Backwards-compatible" Vitality
If the developers were to implement this change then it would mean a fundamental change to the way they handle characters in the game. At present it seems your hps, energy and statistics are held by the game as actual definite numbers. What the OP is asking for is for the game to store the hps, ener...

Re: Been told the game is not for you? Please read this.
All I'd add, is that the harder the game is the more the sense of achievement you will gain when you do something. Some aspects of some modern games can be criticised fairly, because they don't challenge you for ability and choices, they challenge you for how long a period of time you are willing to...

Re: my beefs with LoG
I agree with 2,3,4. The freedom to pick skillpoints isn't really freedom because of the way the perks work.. it really favours one sided characters. I don't know that it has to go all the way to the DM system. I think if it allocated 2 of the 4 skillpoints into the default skill tree then that would...

Re: I demand more!
Here's a question for you Devs... once you've got the modding tools and any patching done... do you want to do more with LoG, or do you want to do a new project? Let's assume that financially either option is equal.
