it's 2x2 grid is enough or just moving back (not working with some big monster due their charge).
And yes, doesn't matter what your party are if you know this moving trick ;/ real-time based combat makes it the only way.

Frost is the best for sure (improved freeze helps you kill anything, only 1 location with freeze immune monsters in game i have seen so far), ice resist is usefull near the end. second is fire, decent dmg, but mostry for fire resist, since there is lots of monsters hiting you with fire stuff. 3th pl...

1 - you need to push both switches which opens the door - left is simple and for right just run faster, you can beat teleported.
