Re: 10 reasons you should play Wizardry 8 after Grimrock:
Respectfully, number 5 should be stricken from the list. The game frequently throws huge swams of enemies at you and having to wait for all their turns running around like headless chickens with their attrociuos AI. Even the fan made speed tool that makes battles run 200% faster cant stop far too ma...

Re: Best area to grind experience
There is also something that can cause these monsters to double up. You quote there as being 3 fire elementals - I only count 2. The third will spawn if you approach the key alcove along the right side. He should 'spawn' behind the pillar with the buttons on it, just like he did the first time you ...

Re: A few zero effort changes to add variety...
Id like to see a greater variety of the existing spell ingredients placed in the levels. I was always reluctant to make and use speed and rage (sulphurous) potions because of limited ingredients and their relatively short lived bonus effects. More evidence of past (failed) prisoner parties would be ...

Re: Wizardry 8 Portraits
If you're doing these by taking screenshots then its probably down to your screen stretching a 4:3 game out to your 16:10 monitor. Most graphics cards have the option to scale while maintaining aspect ratio, adding black bars to the left & right when upscaling. You could also try running the gam...

Re: Dungeon Runner - First LVL Speedrun [Challenge]
It never occurred to me you can rearrange your party formation in combat to eliminate attack cool-downs ;) I guess without that it wouldn't be possible. Cheers! It doesn't eliminate attack cooldowns. Its done to allow 4 melee characters to strike, none of whom have the 'reach' ability. The back row...

Re: Killing myself with spells
Its infrequent. It happens when I hit the blocker for an approaching enemy, and cast a prepared spell while back-pedalling.

Re: Killing myself with spells
The first part, perhaps, but surely not the second. Being hit in the face with my own spell because of a invisible tile blocker that's there to stop me stepping into the same square as an advancing enemy can't be intentional.

Re: make mages able to prepare next spell while on cooldown
I don't mind it much, anymore. I figure its just your mage waving his arms or whatever about tracing the runes, it needs to be done each spell. The cooldown is just fatigue recovery. I think a lot of the frustration would be taken out of runes if they just restricted rune selection to the left mouse...

Killing myself with spells
I can run faster than my spells. I can cast them, then run forward, I cop the spell I just cast. If I try to advance into a tile as an enemy advances into the same tile, get 'blocked', then cast a spell, I cop that spell as If I'd cast it against a dungeon wall. Is this intended behaviour? I've only...

Re: 4 Mages viable?
poison goes well with freeze, that target is just sitting there, why not drop a poison cloud onto it, its cheap to cast and does massive damage. The upgrade to bolt at 24 adds a weak version of the cloud, but the original is still the best. Two mages dedicated to ice are two dead weights when you me...
