Utility Set1 & Bonus Redwood Forest - is up
Re: Utility Set1 & Bonus Redwood Forest - is up
I found the problem.. Grimrock Model Toolkit.. I'm using the Assimp importer, because I have objects that are LOD0 and LOD1, plus some of the objects will use multi materials. You can't do that with the OBJ importer because it only produces 1 mesh on import. If you open some the vanilla objects in the took kit you will see what I mean. Anyway the Assimp importer will separate all the face upon importing unfortunately. So I need to find another way to save them to the .model format.

There is a Blender plugin for Grimrock you can use, but it only works properly on 2.71. I've heard it works on some later versions, but it works just fine with 2.71.
On a different note, I would like suggest putting all your files into one folder that would go into mod_assets, that would contain all the sub-folders inside it, with the paths on the init changed to fit for the sake of organization and user convince.
And another minor change would be to instead of importing 3 different long dungeon arches(one for each pillar possibility), you could import one arch, and one pillar to go with it, and add the pillars on top of the arch in the object definition. Not much impact in the current case, but might be useful in the future if you plan on making different variations of some things.
EDIT: Older Blender versions can be found at http://download.blender.org/release/
EDIT2: Updated plugin link

O M G ... how did I not know about that... Thanks man that will solve my problem.
I was going to have another level of folders, but I was already deep into production so I said screw it
So I have my work cut out for me lol.. Expect an update soon enough.

You're welcome! Glad I could help the one who inspired me to make my own pack
Re: Utility Set1 & Bonus Redwood Forest - is up
It works fine in current versions for non-rigged models. Unfortunately rigged models get imported with the wrong transforms. Every few weeks I try to figure out what's causing that bug, and failzimberzimber wrote:There is a Blender plugin for Grimrock you can use, but it only works properly on 2.71. My last experience with the plugin on a newer version involved some H.P Lovecraft worthy results. It was scaryminmay wrote:It works fine in current versions for non-rigged models. Is there a reason to use it on newer versions though if it works just fine with 2.71?
