Since I have been back at working on Grimrock mods, I have been getting quite a few random lock ups in the editor. Its never from me actively doing anything. Each time its happen I basically just alt-tab back into it and its locked. I have to kill it in task manager to close it.
I took about a year off from doing modding but I am certain it was not happening before like this. The only thing I can think of is newer video card drivers and Grimrock are not playing nice.
I think this as well because of another issue that happens much less often but still has a few times. I can be testing the game thru the editor and all of a sudden my screen goes blue or black for maybe 5 seconds and then comes back. Windows event log says the video driver stopped responding and was restarted. I play lots of games, this is my gaming PC and I have never seen this behavior with anything else.
I wish AH still supported this game in some capacity. Petri hasn't been on since Nov 21st for example. Ugh.
Anybody else getting random locks ups in the editor?

I'm still lurking here daily. This sounds like a display driver bug to me. Please check that you have the latest drivers.

Hello. Yes, I do have the latest drivers, Nvidia 376.33. The next time the driver stops and restarts I'll capture what the event log says. As far as the editor locking up, I get no errors anywhere that I can see. And that issue is more common.petri wrote:I'm still lurking here daily. This sounds like a display driver bug to me. I used to have lockups when I attempted to use the Steam overlay in the editor. Maybe thats whats causing it?

Not running the overlay.zimberzimber wrote:I used to have lockups when I attempted to use the Steam overlay in the editor. Maybe thats whats causing it?
I did realize one thing that seems to be causing it, though not sure if it was the cause each time. I often have to swap between headphones and speakers throughout the day. When I have the editor open and I go into to my sound card settings and switch from "Headphones" to "Speakers" or vice versa, it seems to lock up the editor. That is easily avoidable so hopefully that is my root cause.
