How do you bide your gaming time, waiting for LoG?

Post by rodrell »

Me, I started EoB 3 which I haven't completed back then ( I even found my old EoB 1 to EoB 2 heroes ! )....waiting, waiting, waiting ( my digital beard starts to grow faster from anticipation of LoG )... :)

I lurk in the forums and occasionally I play Mass Effect 3, I really must get round to completing it soon. :)

After that I may replay Dungeon Master, depends how much longer we have to wait!

Contemplating finishing LoL again. Other than that I live in celibacy waiting for LoG.

Wonder if monks can say that? "... apart from THAT, I live in celibacy."

While not refreshing this page/forum frantically, I am playing whatever good lands in my hands. Wing Commander Saga right now.

Playing and making games of my own. Prototypes!

I tried doing something funny with the mandelbrot set, but it was all weird. It was nothing like what you'd call a game. It may evolve into a particle and physics based game.

Before that I made this roguelike game with a HUGE world. It could generate anywhere from 100 to 1000 randomized maps, something for you to explore. It also had a combat system with stuff like blocking, critical hits and bleed effects, and the bleeding would leave traces of blood on the map when you moved around. Unlike in most roguelikes, the combat is actually in real-time.

I've also made a pretty basic dynamic shmup game. It calculated the difference in enemy difficulty and amount of the last stage compared to the new one and would adjust the values appropriately for the next one. The depth of inheritance got out of hand after introducing levels, stages and waves, but it was nothing serious, really.

Recently I've put up my own web server for doing experiments and perhaps host a real site at some point. A friend of mine even borrowed his web domain for it, redirecting from certain url to my server, which is kinda cool. I just got done updating apache, php and mysql on it and everything is running pretty smoothly. I started to code a small, early version of a browser based rpg game, and I already encountered some problems with the login system. Database is working just fine, but there seems to be some problems with the password encrypting or something.

Aaaand that's how I pass my time. Well, actually, that's only half of it. The other half is spent playing games and studying the deep wonders of our universe.

I have been Playing Darklight Dungeon Eternity which is a fantastic indie game and I encourage all people here to give it a try.

I have been back to my life addiction which is Ascension (previously Demise ), indie game also.

Both are dungeon crawling games of course.

I also go quite far in Skyrim.

Enough for being busy....

Playing some of the old first-person dungeon crawlers again to get myself prepared: Dungeon Hack (just never gets old), Anvil of Dawn, also some glances at Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder again. Besides I always have to put some roguelike-ish fun in between: Dungeon Crawl, ADOM, Brogue, Shiren and the likes. And lastly the huge Project Zomboid update is finally on its way, so I'm trying out some of the test builds here and there. ;)
