Fire and Teleporter Effects [Fix!]

Post by Kilsek »

I've encounter a issue now where the torches, teleporter, and fire effects are really bugged graphic wise. I can't really give it words other this to say that fire effects will stay in a area after a spell or a torch will have huge buggy flashes with torn/stretched effects on my screen. It is easy to tell they are bugged out.

Otherwise the game runs flawless. The monsters, walls, sounds, lettering, etc are all perfect and I am running the game on the highest setting. I've tried turning down the settings but it doesn't do anything at all. Even resetting the graphic card as suggestion for other problems didn't help with my NVIDIA card.

Any help or suggests are welcomed of course. I can provide more information if it is helpful.

Pictures of the issue, your graphics card (and driver numbers) and what settings you have everything on would probably be useful :-)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (running with the lastest driver update (296.10 winxp 32bit I got from the offical website).
Main Driver: nv4_disp.dll with version: 6.14.0012.9610 (if that is what you are after)

As for the settings ingame:
1600x900
Full Screen
V-Sync: Disable
Everything on High

I've messed with the ingame settings going so far as to change them, log out of the game and re-enter to see if it helps but no.

It is only effecting fire and the teleporters thou. The poison cloud and poison bolt both look fine. Other then the look of these effects no issues other then those damn spiders trying to kill me

Well I deleted the game and re-downloaded off steam.

Game work great for a couple hours but I am not back to seeing animation issues with spell effects and torches. The effect are buggy, ripped and like to stay in the zone you cast them for a bit. Everything else looks fine thou. Is it a vid card issue? I've updated it, messed with the card settings and the ingame settings but it is the same issue.

Try using a different resolution and see if that changes anything. Go for a more standard one like 1280x720 or something similar.

You could also try upgrading to the latest version of LoG, many bug fixes have been added. :)

This seems to have fixed the issue, plus I have the game patched to the newest version. Thank you kindly for all the help that has been offered. :D

Time to explore!

I think the problem might lie with your 1600x900 resolution. I didn't even know that existed. :|

Hopefully it gets patched at some point and you can run your game at your native resolution, but until then enjoy your game. ;)
