In my country Hellas we have a traditional recipe from the Island of Crete, snails cooked with their shells in the pan with lots of onions and garlic and its, mmmmmmmmm, tasty!
Has any of you tasted such a food?
Snails ( gigantic or not ) !
Snails ( gigantic or not ) !
"...on, into the dungeon..."
Re: Snails ( gigantic or not ) !
Good idea, let's share those tasty snail recipes here! I'll start:
1) Cut a slice about one inch thick from the belly of a freshly killed Giant Snail. The fat layer is thickest in the belly and it's the most nutritious part of the snail. Try to avoid using poison magic in the kill because it leaves a bitter aftertaste.
2) Take an iron frying pan and let is heat on a camp fire for at least a minute. Add a pat of butter. The pan is properly heated when the butter sizzles and melts instantly when it touches the pan.
3) Roast the snail slice quickly on both sides, 15 seconds max per side. Add a pinch of black pepper.
4) Serve with cold ale, I recommend the Strong Dark from Daejon breweries. Bon Appetit!
