Level Five - Button?

Level Five - Button?

On level 5, in the chamber of pits, there is a button, along the wall, as you make a mad dash along the predefined pit route. I searched every square inch of the level and I can't figure out what it is for. Anybody help?

It raises a platform, so you can get some bracers located in that room.
