Level 13 - Switch?

Level 13 - Switch?

There's a small switch
SpoilerShow
in the westernmost north corner of Level 13
and I can't seem to find out what it does. I switched it many times and ran through the level to check if anything changed but I can't find anything!

I backtracked a lot to find all secrets but I'm missing one (70/71), so I'm thinking this is the last one. But it could also be that it's a 1-time only switch and already did what it was supposed to.
Can somebody please help me on that?
When destiny calls, the chosen have no choice.

Didn't that switch open the door to the north half of the map?
