Level 8 - Vault of the Dismantler Switch

I am outside a gate, after going back up to Level 7 and finding the hidden door that leads to this area on Level 8. One problem: I can't get through the gate to where the spider is lurking with the lightning balls. I have gone over the rest of this level (I think), but still no way to get into this area. The one thing I did not do is go down to the next level where all the spores are waiting to kill you. Is there something down there I need?

Same problem. Found the note..Found the secret area on Level 7. Still a gate on level 8 blocking off that area. I can see the lever to open it on the other side of the gate.

You go into 8 through a secret on 7. Once you're in 8 (via the 7 secret entrance), you'll need to explore a bit. After going through some doors and puzzles, you'll end up in the room with the spider

Yes I did find the path..there is a door on the south side of the lightning conduit...That will lead you into that area..thanks.
