Bug Report: Graphical error or working as intended?

Post by HaunterV »

On floor 8;
coming down the hallway walking towards "the vault of the dismantler" I noticed glow effects flashing through the walls that i assume are form the spark balls impacting something... I've just came up to this point in the game. I can also see them if I stand beside the crystal and look toward the vault.

The glow effect can be described as being similar to torchlight glow only the colour is that of the spark balls. I'd provide pics but i dont know if print screen is working.

Yes, I saw this too and it is clearly a rendering error; light should not "flow" outside of solid rock. That said, it makes no difference to the gameplay, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Bug Report: no dungeon textures, all is black!

Post by nubee66 »

Hi,

after a successful installation, the game starts and a party can be created but...

I can't see any textures except the torches and the 4 character portraits.

The dungeon window is black!

While moving arround I can see the torches turning/changing their position, but thats it.

The same apeared on my other computer.
Both pc fullfill the requirements and are able to play Skyrim tm at high details.
Both use a RADEON graphics card with the latest driver.

Will a new download be the solution?

Thx in advance and greets from Bonn (Germany)

Please turn off forced antialiasing from driver settings. This is a known problem with some ATI drivers.

Hi Petri,

thx for your xtreme fast reply and yes...

in reducing the catalyst settings for quality (including antialising) did the job!

Thany you very mutch.

Now finally after 25 years I will crawl back to the dungeons (nowadays together with my sun).

Greets

I was resting here with my back to the wall and recieved damage from a bolt originating on the other side of the wall on my last play through. At least I assume that is what happened as there was no enemies around and while my mage may have been sleepcasting again it seemed more likely to be from the room.

Ah, so it seems! I managed to reproduce the behavior here, at least when using a door instead of a wall. The game runs at a higher speed while resting so lightning bolts might be able to "skip over" thin volumes like doors or those sliding walls. But since it's a thing that can happen only in very few select locations in the game and its impact to a game is probably not a huge one so it's not very high on our priority list. But it was a nice find nonetheless! :)
