...Petri. I believe it must be Finnish ( well, northern nonetheless ) . Delicious in red sauce. it's taste was kind o'sweet. Any connections there? Also what does petri mean, and what kind of fish is it ( It's certainly not tuna )?

Really? Was it any good?
I've only heard of Petri dish before.
"Petri" is the Finnish version of "Peter", so friends call me "Pete".

It was delicious ! Really.
Any idea what kind of fish it was? Because the can was written all over in foreign letter words ( I believe they were Finnish but I don't have the empty can to confirm it with you ).

Finnish is written with the "western" alphabet plus three umlauts: åäö. If the text was in cyrillic letters, it was probably Russian. =)rodrell wrote:It was delicious ! Apparently 'petri' is a LIDL brand.. and I think that's danish or something, as it has the slashed O character (no idea what's that called).
So to rephrase: there's no fish called 'petri', it's just a grocery store chain label. The fish you ate was probably herring or kipper or something. =)
