Nourishment en detail

Post by Wizard of Makan »

Let's take a look at what provisions an inclined corridor-crawler should include in his travels.

There are ten items for the connaisseurs de la cuisine donjon.
Each one is different in weight and nourishment.

Some say they even taste differently, but if if you're being chased by farting mushroom men and the fellow man fighting by your side is a lizard-man whose best idea of hygiene is to pull his smallclothes through mud once a year - and he's not even wearing smallclothes! - I say taste is puuurty low on your list of priorities.

Anyway, here's a handy overview:

Kg / N / R
Grim Cap 0.3 / 32 / 106
Boiled Crag Beetle 0.5 / 32 / 64
*rare item* 1 / 47 / 47
Pitroot Bread 1 / 47 / 47
Baked Maggot 1.1 / 40 / 36
Icy Steak 2.2 / 77 / 35
Mole Jerky 1.4 / 47 / 33
Herder Cap 1.8 / 54 / 30
Snail Slice 2.4 / 57 / 24
Burrow Rat Shank 3 / 52 / 17

N=pure nourishment, ie how much the hunger-bar will be replenished
R=the quotient N/Kg, ie how much "bang for the buck" you get. Lower ranked food is heavy in proportion to its nutritional value.

Seems like a vegetarian might just have a point, at least in Grimrock.

Bon appétit!

edit:zut alors!, the spacing is all wrong!

Now I know what I'm doing wrong and why I have some serious burden issues. Eating all those Pitroot Breads and Baked Maggot as a starters and saving all these Snails Slices and Burrow Rat Shanks for later wasn't best idea. Time for some changes in the diet ;-)
