Hey guys,
part of my current test paper is an ODD MAN OUT exercise with 14 groups of words.
I'm pretty sure about 14 of them, but there's this one group that drives me out of my mind. Maybe you guys are able to help me out.
requiem / cantata / oratorio / aria / concerto
I do have a clue, but I won't tell as it might have an influence on your answers.
Thanks,
PSY

Seriously? Dudes, come on ^^
My guess would be requiem (associated with death, often celebrated during a funeral). 4 other choices entertain.
Can anybody confirm this?
Cheers,
PSY

well I've just googled each one and the biggest difference between them appears to be as you said.

Re: Need help with ODD MAN OUT
may be way off here as i'm not musicologist or anything, but concerto is the only form here that doesn't rely on a vocal part.
as a matter of fact, i never heard of a vocal concerto in classical music, all you can get is certain refferences to early baroque music, but no authors, so i don't know.
might be worth a consideration.
