Bad FOV with version 1.1.4 in 1280x1024

Post by frantacv »

Good day everyone,
please help me.
I have in version 1.1.4 bad FOV. I´m playing in 1280x1024 (nVidia GTX 460).
In version 1.1.3 was it correct.
Should anyone have any solutions?
Thanks everyone for answer.

The fov was increased for non-widescreen resolutions in 1.1.4 because otherwise the gui may cover items on the floor and make it difficult to pick up items in some cases. If the larger fov is troubling you, you might consider playing in widescreen resolution in windowed (or borderless mode): first change the display mode to windowed or borderless in game's settings, shutdown the game and then you should be able to manually edit the resolution in grimrock.cfg file to make the game run in e.g. 1280x720 resolution. Please backup your config file first!

Hi Petri, about your suggestion for manually setting resolutions: I tried smaller than 1024x768 resolutions in the approach of reducing the GPU burden (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2324&start=10#p26685) which were working (with only minor glitches, could be worth to fix them and allow this modes officially) in window mode. If set to fullscreen by cfg, grimrock resets the resolution back to 1024x786. Also a problem, in window-mode the window can't be scaled to fullscreen, the "maximize window" is button greyed out. Some way to workaround this behaviour?
