Application error

Post by Mizuno »

Hi,

I have Windows 7 64 bit SP 1.
I bought LOG from Humble Bundle 17.6.2012.

First installed a game and trying to start a game. Nothing.

1. Error = Application Error 0xc000007b

Then doing some downloading from MS and follow your instructions other topics.
Then uninstalling LOG and reinstalling.

2.
Faulting application name: grimrock.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f9013a2
Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.30319.1, time stamp: 0x4ba1dbbe
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00027c2e
Faulting process id: 0x9e8
Faulting application start time: 0x01cd4c8ea85771bf
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Legend of Grimrock\grimrock.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR100.dll
Report Id: e7004eca-b881-11e1-b20e-1c659d03a2f6

I have tried every step reinstalling including
1. sereby link
2. msvcp.zip
3. directX jun2010
4. vcredist_x86

and nothing.

Then I remember why I stop playing with Windows games years ago and begin to play with Wii and PS3.
I have better things to do than installing drivers, fix patches, windows updates and modifying *.cfg files.

But if you have something for this I will be grateful.

I don't know is this meaning something, but I have MS Visio 2010 in my laptop.

After googling a bit I found that 0xc000007b is related to wrong images or whatnot. Like loading 64bit dll where 32bit dll is expected, or vice versa, or broken dlls or whatever.

My version of msvcr100.dll under system32 is 10.0.30319.415 - yours is almost the same, except that the last bit is .1 which is.. odd =)

My dll's size is 808 KB (827 728 bytes) if that matters.

My "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\legend of grimrock" directory doesn't have a copy of that dll, so that's likely the one the game uses.

As for problems running games - I can't remember when I last had issues running games on windows, and when I did, it was related to some broken DRM implementation or other.. =)

Yes, I think there is a mismatch or something with 32 / 64 bit *.dll drivers but installing fixes didn't solve problem.

Do you have the msvcr100.dll file in your Grimlock folder?

If so, move it to another folder or delete it, then try again.
