Buzzing sound

Post by apexs2 »

Every time i start the game i get about 5 min in (before the slugs things) and i start getting the really load buzzing sound. It goes on for about a min then stops for 30 sec and then starts up again. I can link a youtube video of it if you like.

hmmm... strange. maybe I missed something in your report, but could it be that this is your systems overheating warning soudn (mainboard/GPU)? Check with GPU-z your GPU temperatures and/or reduce the frameratelimiter in the grimrock .cfg to to some more useful value like 40fps (instead of 120fps) to reduce the burden. Also you could check if the FPS drop when the sound stops for 30sec (down throtteling maybe) see here (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2574&start=10#p26796) cheers

PS: if you have a older GPU lowering the resolution might be (only) effective (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2324&start=10#p26685)

You could try setting vertical sync to Triple Buffered or Enabled in game's settings dialog and see if it helps.
