Level 2 gate behind Crystal of Life doesn't open

I have completed all the tasks and found all secrets on level 2...up to the Crystal of Life chamber. I got the brass key and used it on the North gate but the gate doesn't open. Is this a bug in the game? I have the GOG version. Haven't found any mention of this in other forums.

I'd appreciate a little help her. A;so, though unrelated, the teleporter doesn't respond to my pushing the button on the wall and walking backwards. It just kicks me back.

If I remember correctly, that's the gate with two locks.. on both sides of the gate. So you need another key.

You need two key for open this gate, one is in the chamber on the East, other in chamber on the West.

When you push button you should be fast to go backward.
If you have a slower character in your party (with a snail icon) you can't pass, you should let item.
If you don't have a slower character, decrease graphic quality (résolution, effect, ...) the game must be more reactive.

Have also dropped all items carried except a single weapon. Pushing the button and backing thru is not working.

I have the game loaded on a laptop with AMD V120 processor 2.20ghz and 3gb ram. Windows 7 SP1

any ideas or even cheats if my machine is too slow for this part of the game?

You need to press the button on the wall almost simultaneously as pressing backwards quickly several times.

Does you laptop have any sort of graphics card? It sounds like it is a little low spec for the game.

Yes, this is a single processor with built in graphics chip. I don't recall being asked about system specs when looking at the game online before I bought & downloaded it.

That said, I finally got thru by hitting backup simultaeously with mouse clicking the button (took several tries).

I don't think my desktop computer meets those system specs either. It'll probably make it difficult to evade the monsters as the game progresses.

That is one of the tightest timing puzzles of the whole game, so you may be okay with the rest of it. There is another spot that might be equally tight, but it should be possible.

What's your problem there? It's a door with two locks each requiring one key.
