Since this has come up a few times here on the forums, I thought it might be good that we have something on the topic on the modding documentation too:

There I describe how you can create the classic puzzle where you need to insert a correct item on an alcove to trigger an event of some kind. From there I move on to describe how you can mass control entities on a level using a similar script: in this case I disable all the teleporters on a single level.

this tutorial is super helpful for my teleport device as well, I'll expect to get it working today
