walls don't slide up lvl 9 book of wisdom

The walls on either side should slide up after you pick up book of wisdom.I seem to be at a lose.Any help ?

I grab the book walls should slide up, opens to sulphurous potion.Stand on pressure platee door opens to crystal of life and on to puzzle room,arrow rock skull key.the walls are not opening and no way to advance to potion.Thanks for your info.

I repeat: it's NOT the book alone you have to grab. You need to get 2 more items from other alcoves to cause the walls to slide up.

btw: the thread in Gameplay Hints forum you posted in already had the complete answer.

you have to REMOVE the other items. I made the "mistake" on my first playthrough of deciding I didn't need one of the items and I left it in the alcove. Oops, had to backtrack all the way and just grab it and drop it on the ground.
