Hello everyone.
I'm excited to know that a game editor is available but I'm having no luck with the necessary patching.
My Grimrock version is 1_1_4 and I tried to update to 1_3_1 but got the error Grimrock.dat patching failed. See if patch version is correct.
OK, I don't know what the correct patch version is to be. I had initially purchased the game through GOG and tried the patching that way but
it gave me the same error.
My system meets the minimum specs and Windows 7 Pro is my OS
Any help will be appreciated, thank you.
patch update failed
Re: patch update failed
I updated from GOG.
First uninstall current Grimrock it will ask if you want to keep your saves.
Then download and run setup.

Re: patch update failed
Thanks Brodie301!
Yes, I had to uninstall Grimrock and then re-install from the GOG page! Now the editor is listed on my start screen.
I haven't tried the editor yet but may post my opinion after I play with the editor for awhile. I am planning to make a level
that isn't just banging away at monsters until they stop moving but to use monsters as only one of many challenges you face in addition to
maybe traps, deadends, loot. I am interested in computer programming as a hobby and may try my hand at scripting with Lua
to see what mayhem I can cause. OOOO the potential there.
Anyway thanks again Brodie!
