Also how much of an impact did/does modding have in influencing this new outpouring of all these great Indie Gaming companies?

So I got to thinking, I've seen a lot of modders who modded for NWN series and DAO, and also the TES series and was wondering if you guys modded for any of these games (Or others)...If yes then, where do we download them?

Not really. I've always preferred creating games over modding..
Re: To the Devs: Did you mod other games?
Cool, I'm a modder of sorts as I'm really into Concept Art/level design...But scripting and programming, is a bit too much for me at the moment, though I do honor mathematicians and programmers as heroes, as they follow the code of logic and reason over violence and superstition! (Plus, they mastered a skill I could only dream at doing)petri wrote:Not really. I've always preferred creating games over modding..
So, besides the upcoming title coming out what other games have you made?

Re: To the Devs: Did you mod other games?
Commercially I have been working on Alan Wake and Max Payne 2.
Before that Escape from Dragon Mountain (never finished), Bloodfest (Amiga game), Zhandulin Helmi (a finnish text adventure for Amiga), Pucman Worlds (a Pacman clone for Amiga), Endless Adventure (a roguelike with graphics) + countless of unfinished/unreleased projects...

Oh wow! You've been around! I'll definitely have to check out Alan Wake and the Max Payne series then! Yeah, I wanted to go into the business myself, but school is too expensive now (Especially in the U.S.) and I'm no longer in my thirties (Mid-forties) though, I wouldn't mind contributing some artwork for an indie company once I get proficient enough with the wacom that is!petri wrote:Commercially I have been working on Alan Wake and Max Payne 2.

Heh, I guess my ultimate goal is to find a nice little corner in which I can do my work in front of the computer and get paid while doing it!

Re: To the Devs: Did you mod other games?
My modding experience is limited to one small mod: a few years ago I did an instagib mod for an obscure 2D deathmatch game, LieroX with custom graphics, audio and gameplay. It was loads of fun over LAN at the office.
Commercially, I've worked on a handful of 3D mobile games (way before 3D was big on mobiles, so even though they now look crude they were pretty cutting edge stuff at the time) at a now extinct company called Fathammer. Some of the titles I was involved in were Stunt Car Extreme, Spy Hunter and a handful of others that seem to be too obscure for Youtube
. I was working in level design and graphics there.
One nice thing was that I got to work on some pretty exotic platforms, including the infamous Gizmondo. Also our helpful forum moderator and Grimrock beta tester, Sol_HSA, was one of my colleagues there.
After Fathammer, I moved on to Remedy to work on Alan Wake as an environment artist.
And now with Grimrock, I've worked mostly on level design, audio and also a little bit on graphics as well, like the items icons and models.

I've only played Max Payne 1 and 2 and I can say that they are among my favourite games ever concerning atmosphere and storytelling style. Definitely worth it.TZO2k12 wrote:I'll definitely have to check out Alan Wake and the Max Payne series then!
Now I'm interested, where did that end up?petri wrote:Endless Adventure (a roguelike with graphics)

Oh man... I envy you guys...
I always wanted to get into game development... not as a programmer, but as a designer. Sadly, it nevery happened... so all I do today is draw/write pen and paper stuff for a group of halfwits (my friends).^^
... getting old sucks.^^
