+1 Indies

Post by Pipi »

Hello, like many others, I have recently found out about this game and immediately pre-ordered my copy.

I've also posted a thread on Natural Selection 2 forums to let people know about this game. Being concerned about quality gaming that Indie developers bring us, as opposed to the big-names commercial market that is falling behind, I'm also posting here to share to this community the existence of Natural Selection 2, a fabulous indie FPS/RTS which is in Beta right now.

Looks nice, but for a indie game it is way over priced. Small profit = Large turnover. When it is half that price I may give it another look.

When did the notion come up that all apparent "indie games", whatever the definition may be, must be sold for chicken feed? NS2 might not be published by Activision or whatever money-grubbing whorehouse you might come up with, but it's nontheless an industry title. Like Croteam's Serious Sam, for example. $35 are indeed a bit much, but then, the game has been in the making for a while, and that "tight is right" mentality that came with humble bundles and stuff hasn't been so prevalent until just over a year ago.

Oh this is interesting. I have never played first NS, but I used to play the Tremulous, which is quite a similiar, although maybe not that good.

Yeah!
Notch was only saying to me the other day how he wished he had asked for more than £5/7 for Minecraft, because he only made chicken feed from it, barely enough to buy a pizza for himself. :P
