Very prospective buyer with a couple questions

Post by RLennon »

I stumbled upon this game and this site, and I am VERY intrigued. I am an old school gamer, and have been pleasantly suprised with everything I have seen regarding this game. This seems to be the perfect fit of a game that I like (old school dungeon crawler), and what my 11 year old son likes (He would love creating his own dungeons as he loves 'Tycoon' type build your own world type games)

I do have a question, though. I will be 100% purchasing straight from the designers (as I also am an indie game desginer). If I purchase direct from the designers, will I still get the Mods add on? And would me and my son be able to still upload and download user created dungeons from Steam?

Thanks in advance!!

By buying directly from us you get both the Steam version and the standalone version of the game. So yes, you will be able to download and use mods from Steam Workshop and other modding sites.

Happy gaming! :)

Petri,

Thanks for the VERY quick reply, I am impressed. Please allow me a NOOB question 8-) We (my son and I) could upload stuff as well? I think he would love the creative side of this game.

From Steam no, I don't think so. But there's Grimrock Nexus (http://grimrock.nexusmods.com/), which many modders use as alternative. Nexus is also a place you can upload not only mods but also custom assets and such so it's even more useful for a modder/dungeon designer then Steam Workshop.

Also I have purchased LoG directly from AH as well (I haven't been using Steam back then), yet I have received Steam Key anyway so I were able to activate LoG on steam without any extra cost several months after purchasing it.

EDIT:
Oh, ninja'd by a developer. I'm honoured and humbled :-D

EDIT2:
Not that It's difficult to ninja me. I usually need about half an hour to finished editing a post and submit it.

Yes, you can publish dungeons in the Steam Workshop and Grimrock Nexus. For Workshop you need to install the game on Steam.
