[DOTM] Dungeon of the Month (Dec 12) - Nominations Open!

Post by JohnWordsworth »

Lets get this party started and see how it goes! Nominations for the XMas 2012 mod of the month are open for any and every completed dungeon that's been released to date. Please nominate the mod(s) that you would like to see voting for. No hard rules this month, but we'll use common sense and discussion in this thread to agree a top X if there are dozens of entries I guess.

Prize this month (a Steam Game): A random draw for everyone that nominates and/or votes for a mod (1 entry per person!).

Nominations Close: 5pm Sun 9th Dec 2012 (GMT)
Voting: Sun 9th Dec 2012 - Sun 23rd Dec 2012

Nominations so far (updated when posted below)

@Neikun: I think the general consensus in the IDEA thread was to limit this to completed dungeons that 'users' can enjoy (and not wallsets/etc). Mostly so we can highlight content for players to play to broaden the community. Will rename to 'Dungeon of the Month!'

Oh... Well The Merchant's Wine Basement is the only one I've really been playing from time to time. -I spend a long long time in front of GIMP and the GMT haha. So That would be my vote. (It's really a spectacular mod. So many awesome things happening in it, while being genuinely fun to play.)

I'm gonna throw my hat in for Wine Merchants Basement, also. But like Neikun, my opportunity for playtime is limited at the moment.

My vote is for the big friendly warden, because it

- is short, but it has a complete original story
- is the first mod I played that showed me wat is really possible with creative scripting and invisible items
- motivated me to start finally modding myself

And i loved 'nana's magical wand of moving statues to the right'!
Nana will be back with her wands! :D
Did you visit the Wine Merchant's Basement? And heard about the Awakening of Taarnab?

Thanks for the nominations guys - list in first post updated. I was thinking of a 2-week voting period after nominations to give people a chance to play through the mods before voting. X-Mas is a double edged sword, some people will be extra busy, but others will just have 3 weeks off Uni to kick around (I miss those days!).

If I can suggest one I have completed : Pyramid of Xafi is outstanding, the best mod I have been playing, using only what is available in editor.

You can just check the comments & feedback about it.

:)

PS : for next month, it will be forbidden halls

I'm wondering if this thread shouldn't appear in General Game Discussion, also. That way, the full-time player, that does not have interest in Modding (and has played many of the mods), can get their 2 cents in.

@Numberouane: Added to the list - thanks for the nomination :).

@Msyblade: I was wondering that myself. My initial thoughts were to have nominations here and then voting in the general gaming discussion group. But I'm happy with whatever people think is best!
