not nearly weathered enough, to me. I think they should be "ancient", cracked all over, maybe warped a bit, and - perhaps most importantly - with very little color instead of being a strong brown/gold (which looks like some modern lacquer finish to me.)

I think texturing is both and art and a science (which I know not much about!) so I know how hard it can be to get good results.

Thanks for the speedy input guys - very much appreciated. These are a bit more weathered now...

The weathered plaques look much more appropriate IMO.

I have updated the version on the Nexus with the latest weathered texture (original are still available if anyone is using a clean wallset). I'm pretty happy with how the weathered version looks too and have to run off from the PC for a bit, so wanted to upload the weathered ones for anyone that would like to use them. Thanks again for all the feedback - the latest weathered version looks much better than the first one thanks to your ideas and feedback.

Fantastic! Yes the "cooler" coloring is much more appropriate looking and the weathering is far more believable to me. I think these will fit nicely into any dungeon. Thumbs up!

Yes, I think the final version is weathered enough. They look great.

Do you have a copy of your image with the walltext and wood texture on different layers?
You might be able to get away with putting your walltext on top of the ingame wooden_box texture.

But you're weathered versions are certainly better than your original versions in my opinion.

I think this is a fantastic idea.
One way I might make it look prettier would be to add some sort of ridge all around it to give the corners and edges more definition and presence.
