On a performance point of view, I've tested these settings on a Mac mini core i5 (2.3GHz) with 8Go of RAM and the Intel HD graphics 3000 :
- rendering high and texture high : Run without crashing but the framerate becomes too slow when there is multiple ennemies and/or light effects with teleporters or torches.
- rendering low and texture high : The framerate seems to be very high whatever the number of ennemies, torches or teleporters. No crash on my configuration (Mac OS X v10.7.5)
