game will not launch

I have browsed the forums and found that i need to create a grimrock.cfg file. I did this and the game still wont work. If anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated. I have also recently updated directX and visual basic c++

also when i try to run the game i get an error "The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

The error message seems to imply that the microsoft visual c++ redistributable is the issue. Could you navigate to your game's folder (if you're on Steam, you can do it from Steam library -> right click LoG -> properties -> local files -> browse local files) and from the vcredist subfolder, run the .exe. It's better to install it from there rather than somewhere from the internet since there are multiple different versions of the redistributables available.

You don't need to create this file manually (besides a few exceptional cases where the error message will be different): when the game starts and the file is not found, it will create the config file by itself. I suggest that you delete the .cfg file for now since I don't think it is the culprit this time.
