Hi, this is my first time posting here.
I've tried searching to see if I could fix this problem, but I'm completely stumped. Every time I start playing LoG, and get a few minutes in, the screen will turn to black with brown stripes for a few seconds, then revert back. After that happens, the cursor gets all distorted. If I immediately exit out of the game, the cursor stays messed up, and if I don't exit, the screen stripes again, then the audio cuts, and my computer freezes.
This is the only Steam game I have that has ever given me any problems. I have a XFX Radeon HD 6770 card, with a fully updated driver suite. (Catalyst Control Center 13) The card doesn't even come close to overheating, and I have V-Sync enabled. I don't know what else to do otherwise.
Graphics crash after several minutes
Re: Graphics crash after several minutes
Check with GPU-Z if your GPU is overheating and the load is always 100%. This is a common problem as LOG is only GPU and not CPU bound. If yes, lower FPS-limiter value in the grimrock.cfg from 120fps to e.g. 40fps.NeoKnux wrote:Hi, this is my first time posting here.

Actually this does sound a lot(!) like an overheated GPU.NeoKnux wrote:Hi, this is my first time posting here.

Make sure V-Sync is really enabled i.e. by checking your in-game framerate with FRAPS.
Re: Graphics crash after several minutes
No need for fraps. Just use the ingame FPS visualization (see viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2574&start=10#p26796) Also, vsync might be ineffective (and is enabled now by default so it's to assume it's ineffective), better use the configurable FPS limiter.Dr.Disaster wrote:Actually this does sound a lot(!) like an overheated GPU.NeoKnux wrote:Hi, this is my first time posting here.

Re: Graphics crash after several minutes
The point is IF V-Sync is working as intended and FPS are a steady 60 WITH the GPU showing this behavior it's likly there is a GPU-related problem. A Radeon 6770 should have no issue delivering 60 FPS so for that matter i would have a tool like GPU-Z run in the background keeping track of GPU load, temperature and fan speed while LoG is runnning.badhabit wrote:No need for fraps.
