One thing I noticed when a friend of mine played Legend of Grimrock was that he played with the predefined party. He apparently didn't realise you could make your own. I'm thinking most people would want to make their own party, so perhaps the option to create your own party should be an option to not create your own party. This way you need to actively choose to use the predefined party.
Just something to consider.

Yeah, we thought about this as well when developing Grimrock 1 but we ended up reasoning that if a player is too impatient to read even the "new game" dialog, it's better to just let him play with the default party rather than give him the character generation screen.

He has become somewhat of an impatient type after playing WoW for a few years
