
Personally, what I've been craving for a long time is a modern take on the classics of turn-based wRPGs: Wizardry, Ultima, Might and Magic, Bard's Tale, the Gold Box series, Realms of Arkania triology (for the 2 english speaking ppl who know those games

If the defining element of Grimrock was "tile-based", then the critical element here is "turn-based" - a mode of play that has fallen almost completely out of favor in western style RPGs, which is a shame imo. Note that the two aren't mutally exclusive of course.
