Adjusting the sizes of creatures
Adjusting the sizes of creatures
Can anyone go through the process for adjusting the size of a creature in the game using either blender or John's great toolkit? I'm sure it's been done (someone created smaller than normal ogres for a dungeon I think) but I can't find any mention of it.
As always, any help would be appreciated.

In GMT, I'm "pretty" sure you just choose the main object, then select "scale" and put in say ".7"
Be warned that animation problems are common when scaling down. For instance, the spiders legs no longer move the correct distance to appear fluid with how far the spider travels to move one full square.

Re: Adjusting the sizes of creatures
Please note that you will have greater success if you scale the animations and not the monster.
You will probably need to define new animation events in this case.

Thanks for the input.
I went and redefined the animations for the monster I wanted to adjust the size. It's not perfect, but alright for what I want.

Hi Grimfan,
if you check the animation editor, it has a "preset" function which also adjusts for the walking animation (it has several options for that, but afaik the only one requiring changing the options are the slimes).

Re this,
what kind of creature do you want to resize and by how much ? I can do that for you if you can't work out how the anim editor preset work.

Re: Adjusting the sizes of creatures
Thanks for the offer Xanathar, but I ended up going in a different direction monster-wise. I was trying to make a giant-sized scavenger, and got it working but didn't like the monster clipping through the walls or partially passing through the camera (yes, it was that big) and decided it was more trouble that it was worth.
