Okay guys, I just found something both interesting and a little frustrating.

I downloaded PAINT.NET and I exported the texture as a .dds from there, much simpler as I dont have to rely on 3rd-party plugins like with photoshop.
Anyways, it fixed it, I dont get an error because "spider1_dif.dds" Could not Load. However, I encountered a new error, very similar:

I can only assume that "spider1_normal.dds" will have the same problem.

you'll still need to edit your materials .lua file a little

specularMap = "mod_assets/textures/monsters/spider1_spec.tga",
normalMap = "mod_assets/textures/monsters/spider1_normal.tga"
Once I encountered that error, and saw your post I instantly tried it, but unfortunate as I am, that did not fix it.
So old problem fixed, new problem encountered.

Conchron wrote: remma might be on to something. The spider files in the original asset folder are probably not named "spider1". The "1" is yours isn't it? Then it should be

specularMap = "assets/textures/monsters/spider_spec.tga",
normalMap = "assets/textures/monsters/spider_normal.tga",

As remma wrote.

You can also copy the spec and normal file from the asset pack to your texture/monsters folder and rename them spider1_spec and spider1_normal. Then the
specularMap = "mod_assets/textures/monsters/spider1_spec.tga",
normalMap = "mod_assets/textures/monsters/spider1_normal.tga",

works too.
And by that, the chapter of "The Spider Texture Error" is completed, thank you everyone for your help, you have been more helpful and friendly than I would ever expect.
So thanks! :)

PS: Nevermind my previous post, was posted just seconds before "Conchron" pointed out my mistake.

Wow, you really have a gift that keeps on giving... :mrgreen:
Did you make the spec and normal mapping yourself of did you copy the originals from the asset pack? You might need to export them too through paint.net into dds.

Great! :) It's past bedtime for me but I just had to see if you could solve it or not.

I did not make the spec and normal mapping myself, I'm not THAT gifted. :P
I am pretty sure I am gonna be using PAINT.NET from now on, its has all
the traits I need, and actually works.

So thanks to everyone who helped me out, I couldn't dream of better help.

And Conchron, always remember: "You're awesome!"
