what to do with treasures and lost property?

Post by wired »

I just started the game so forgive me this question.

I assume there are no tradesmen in the dungeons but what about chests or something like that? Or is it a good idea to discard everything I don't need immediately? I ask because normally I use to collect everything in a rpg. 8-)

There are no shops. No chests, just secret rooms.
It might not always be a good idea to discard things that don't seem important yet.
Treasures (Things you pick up that tell you they're a treasure) are fun to collect, but I don't know if you need them on you by the end of the game to count as having found them.

In Master Quest everything has a loot value, so you can try to keep higher value stuff that doesn't weigh too much :) But it's not for a shop or anything, just rankings and bragging rights

You do find various bags and crates that act as containers to expand your inventory space, and the heavier ones are sometimes better used as on-the-floor storage.

It's a good habit to create a cache of things you don't need right now but that might come in useful later (food, ammo, odd/unique items) near a set of stairs or other easily-revisited location. You can use this as a sort of base camp and move it from level to level as you clear areas out.

Sounds like a really good idea. I will give it a try!

I must confess: since Morrowind I like to collect thinks, not only for trading but just for showcase. Leaving all these Legionary Shields on the ground make my heart bleeding.
