Maybe i understand what you want to say, and i dont think you´re dumb^^ - despite any 'disability'..
Warrior, if you have fun with things that you do or want to do, you´re on the right side - whatever it might be!
No one pressed you into do things you dont have fun with. This is essential in all things a human can do - or want to do - and every person has a barrier.
You can´t break your personal barriers, for shure! You may try, and it is necessary to grow mature to do so. To find your way.
This is similar in all live´s directions, if you learn how to deal with girls (a hard issue^^), cars or job issues - you learn, the hard or easy way.
Everyone does! And if someone leaves some bad comments, i´m shure he lost some lessons :)
No *really* mature person would do so, because he knows life.
Ok, this was the.. psychological comment xD

For me, i learned how to code in delphi, c, c++, java, php -yes html/css i can add here, its rel. simple but you have to learn things well, too.
Mostly job reasons, for shure.
I had a car accident ten years ago, it changed my life. Head injuries , spine and shoulder injuries as result.
I took me a year to get in shape. And after that, i cant concentrate .. things went bad!
I lost job, no way to fulfill timelines.

Warrior, if you dont have fun coding, let it be, as i do mostly^^
I dont need acceptance for myself, if i have fun or time to do things that i WANT to do, i do - otherwise not^^
I see my limits - private and job - well, sometimes i check to break barriers of myself. But everytime cautios and easy going.

You cant do all by yourself, ask others to help you, this 'grouping' is the essence for bigger projects, if job related or private.

Dont even try to do all by yourself!! Didnt work.

THAT´s the Truth!!

Well said, Germanny.
I would like to add that it takes courage for you to open yourself up to a group that you really look up to. You show a passion and desire to MAKE THIS WORK, no matter the barriers. Whether you have to ask for help 5 times, or come up with a different way to do it, you DO IT. That is an inspiring quality that stands out about you, EW. You're just fine here, and we all wish for your continued success at building your mod. I sense that you feel a "social" pressure when you are around this group. . .perhaps because you so dearly don't want to be misunderstood, or are afraid of not seeming "cool" enough. That pressure, to feel like you aren't the "odd one out", is put on you by yourself. It is a fear, caused by natural instinct, that you need to overcome by just having the confidence to say the wrong thing sometimes, and not get down on yourself about it. Carry on, in the positive direction you were headed! Don't let yourself get down on you, and tear you up, yourself is the only thing holding you back!!

ps: Sorry if that made absolutely no sense, it sounded great in my head!

One may look here:
http://www.lua.org/manual/5.2/
or here:
http://lua-users.org/wiki/LearningLua
Additional for Grimrock, from Jkos (thank you)
https://sites.google.com/site/jkosgrimr ... heat-sheet

I own the book 'Programming in Lua' from lua.org/Roberto Ierusalimschy.
It´s the official book from lua.org.
Roberto is the chief architect of the language, so he knows best about.
If anyone really want to learn Lua, this book may the best choice.

thanks germanny they are great examples of Lua basics but do we have any STEP BY STEP TUTORIALS focussing on Lua in LOG?

this is what is needed for people like Eleven Warrior and me

we need to see the Lua that is needed for the simplest dungeon mechanics that we can't do with the Dungeon Editor already, then see the next simplest .....

any Tutorial exist? what you listed there is great Lua basics but it does not relate directly to Dungeon Editing in LOG :(

You know, hallunoid, for what you want; an LoG based understanding of LUA, the best way to do it is to download all of the dungeons with their source files available. Lua is such a fluid language, that you find many people have their own approach or accent to it. Diarmuid and Komag may both want to make a sky appear, but the 2 resulting codes will be completely different. (Night and Day, if you will. Ha!) that difference in approach, teaches alot about simple scripts. I think mahric always had a very unique view on how to bypass/backdoor problems he ran into. Very straightforward and easy to understand what he trying to accomplish. So, my advice is to go download the wine merchants basement source, master quest source, mine of malan vael source, and if you want REALLY simple examples, the Hotel Hades 2 source. Then play through them in the editor, and whenever you experience something "abnormal" that interests you, or you could learn from, go see exactly how they are doing it, in the editor. You can learn many LoG specific things in this manner, and many of us have done it a couple of times just to be more familiar with each others approach.

Hope this helps!
