I couldn't figured most of the puzzles out for the life of me. I had to utube almost every single one for answer or I just ended up spending hours wander around.
For example, in the mage's entrance, my mouth was wide open when I saw the answer on utube in which I was supposed to use a fire sword to shoot a fireball at the face on the wall. I didn't have a fire mage. I was forcing myself to not look at utube but I finally gave up after 2 hours of trying.
Are the puzzles too hard or am I just bad

Well... "Mage Entrance" implies a magical entrance, and what can a mage do? Eventually you see a fireball from the Mage entrance.Fenlius wrote:I couldn't figured most of the puzzles out for the life of me. The game is geared towards Dungeoncrawler aficionados, and especially DungeonMaster and "Eye of the Beholder" players; and in this case most of these puzzles are easier to deduce for players with prior experience playing the harder dungeoncrawlers.

I found them challenging, but not impossible. The hardest puzzle for me to figure out, was probably the Checkered Room-Puzzle. Sat an 1-hour in front of my PC, then I finally went to sleep. The next day, just after I woke up, it finally hit me. You just have to force yourself NOT to google the solution, even if this just means exiting the Game for now and taking a break. Most of the time the solution then will suddenly hit you on the head, trust me.
You can't just always advance with an Oldschool Dungeon Crawler, without giving your brains a rest every now and then. If you don't have that patience, play a Blizzard Game, (really, no offense).
Used a Walkthrough on the Final Boss, though, but I'm regretting this now.

You're not alone. Some of those puzzles were insanely difficult. Especially if they had multiple steps to them. The most notorious one for me was the room that had the shifting teleporters, every time you took a step (I think it was on Level 4). That one just about drove me bat $#!+ insane, and I finally looked how to pass it. While I was making progress on my own, I felt like I was losing too much time trying to get it right. (I might have missed a clue or something somewhere that may have hinted at the proper sequence, but for me it was trial and error - and mostly error).Fenlius wrote:I couldn't figured most of the puzzles out for the life of me.
