I'm trying to answer some questions to more fully fill out my LoG 2 Character Info spreadsheet.
1. Do Vitality and Willpower also increase the amount of HP/Energy each time you level? If so, what's the formula?
2. How does Protection work? As the value increases, how does it impact damage inflicted?
3. How does Evasion work? Does evasion simply subtract from the monster's Accuracy in determining whether something hits?
4. Does Strength impact damage to Throwing weapons? If so, at the same rate as melee?
5. What is the penalty to wearing armor without the Armor Skill?
6. Do all critical hits always hit for 3 times the damage, or is that specific to backstabbing?
Likely more to come, but knowing any of that info would help greatly.

Re: Game mechanics questions
1. I dont think so, thats based on the starting class you choose.
2. No idea
3. No idea
4. This you can easily calculate by looking at the base damage value if you stone (for example) is in your inventory and looking at your damage value below your hand when you have equipped it
5. Its an evasion penalty - This is shown on the item itself.
6. No idea ^^

Re: Game mechanics questions
1. According to the descriptions on Vitality: "Vitality affects the amount of Health points gained at first and subsequent levels..." Willpower is phrased similarly. This would imply it makes a difference during level ups. Either the text should change or it makes an impact and I'd like to know the formula.
For other questions, I don't have the game in front of me to experiment. Can anyone help me out with specific info?

Re: Game mechanics questions
Backstab does 3 times damage. Crits are different and unrelated... I'd imagine if you get a crit and a backstab you'd do more than 3x damage.Do all critical hits always hit for 3 times the damage, or is that specific to backstabbing?
It'd be easier to answer these if I opened up the editor, but I'm not touching it until I beat the game. XP
Re: Game mechanics questions
I've only played the first level so far, but I noticed that
SpoilerShow
even some melee weapons are modified by dex rather than strength (i.e. daggers), so it may be inaccurate for the sake of the stats chart you've made (lovely that, thank you, Thomast8991) to leave that out.
Perhaps strength is used rather than dex for some range weapons? I'll have to check again later, but I think thrown weapons were based on strength while missile was dex.

Re: Game mechanics questions
They should, but at the moment it is bugged and does not scale HP and Energy per level. Known bug and they are already working on it for a patch.thomast8991 wrote:1. Do Vitality and Willpower also increase the amount of HP/Energy each time you level? If so, what's the formula?
It reduces physical damage taken. Still playing through so obviously can't come up with a concise formula, but I still think they made Protection pretty weak compared to Evasion this game. Having high armor WILL vastly reduce damage taken from physical attacks early in the game, but as monsters gain elemental attacks and can ignore large portion of your protection, I question my investment.thomast8991 wrote:2. Yes it does. Basically the formula for your attack in this game is indicated right on the Weapon itself. For Throwing weapons it is usually "x-y + Strength" with x-y indicating the weapon's base damage. Of course you'll have to factor in the Strength itself and any other traits you may have to boost damage.thomast8991 wrote:4. Does Strength impact damage to Throwing weapons? 5. What is the penalty to wearing armor without the Armor Skill?[/quote]
Just like the first game, wearing most light/leather armors without the proficiency will reduce your evasion by 5 and for heavy armors, by 10. That is for each one you wear, so if you wear 4 Heavy armor pieces without 4 points in Armor Skill, you will have 40 reduced evasion.

Great answers overall!
Where have you seen that they have confirmed that this is indeed a bug and that Vitality and Willpower should give extra health and energy on level up (it could also be that the tooltips are wrong, even though I hope that is not the case)?
And also where have you seen that this is something they are working on for the first patch?
