Is this the same engine as the first game?

If so, would it be possible to put the dungeon from the first Grimrock into the second one?

I never finished the first one and it would be neat to have both 'areas' in one game!

The engine has evolved quite a bit from Grimrock 1 so just dropping the Grimrock 1 dungeon into Grimrock 2 won't work.

Not sure why you'd want Grimorck 1 in 2's engine either, since visually its nearly identical. Besides im sure the community will port the first dungeon in time

The developers might not appreciate the whole first game being ported into the second game engine, because then people could just buy the second game only, play the first game (as a mod) and then play the second game.

Still, one could make a pretty cool remake of the original Grimrock with the new features from Grimrock 2. I think there's a good chance a modder will do it.

Interesting. having the LoG1 Dungeon re-created (with some edits like that modded version) into the LoG2 could be really fun. But at the same time it could mean a profit loss for the devs cause if someone do re-make the dungeon then there is little point in having the first game.... =/
