Teletransportation

Is there any way to teletransport between areas? I mean there many "things" that you leave behind thinking of coming back in the future, so do you have to walk all the way back between different areas of the island or am I missing something?

There is an area called "the hub"...

If you explore the entire map, you'll eventually come across an area called The Hub, which is a place where portals from different areas connect to. At the moment, the only portal I have available there is to the Shipwreck Beach, i.e. the first area.
