Minotaur with a dilemma (skulls)

Post by Pekaafax »

Didn't pick headhunter trait at start for my frontrow barbarian minotaur, now I found my first skull.

Question: are there books/scrolls for picking additional traits (and getting the headhunter one) while game progresses, so is there any point hoarding skulls for future use?

Mind you, I could carry them just for cosmetic purpose.

Uh, you are both right and wrong about the amount of skulls. I'm not 100% sure but I believe there are 8 "fixed" skulls (hence the achievement) and in addition to those at least 2 of the random loot containers (Cemetery digs and can't remember, a chest maybe ?) has additional skulls on their random loot tables.

Cemetery digs are a "fixed" in pick, "random" in position loot.

I don't remember a skull in a chest honestly.... then they could be 10, but until i find it i'll say 9. :ugeek:

I got 7 skulls so far and i am pretty sure i found one in a chest.

At op: Don't worry about it, your party will be strong enough to finish the games even without that trait.

I had 8 going into the castle IIRC. ended up with nine.

I too did not take the headhunter trait. I did take muscular though, so only 7 loss total. plus, got to start off with a little extra strength, which was useful early on.

frankly, at the end game, 7 strength isn't all that meaningful. it's less than 10 bonus damage, max.

if you are using heavy 2h weps, that's nothing when you are critting for 800 or more damage.

so, don't kick yourself too hard.

if it really bothers you, and you have an alchemist, go find some crystal flowers ASAP, always leave one in their inventory, and they will get duped every few thousand steps. use the results to make strength pots.

Yeah I have muscular as well, so apparently I'm not totally screwed.

Actually there is an alchemist in my party, unfortunately her skill is just on 2nd level and I assume strength potion would probably require mastery? Haven't seen any recipe either and I'll usually try to avoid exact spoilers... perhaps a hint where the recipe can be found? ;)

She does have 2 crystal flowers in her backpack though, so I'll hold onto them!

Thanks for answers, all!

Totally.

It's only 1 generic recipe for ALL the power-up potions, and since you already know that the crystal flower are needed...

yup.

recipes will be obvious. there are no 3 ingredient recipes using the flower.

oh, and if you have an actual alchemist, not just the skill, those crystal flowers will eventually get duped in their pack.

4500 steps for each one IIRC.
