Anyone know how to solve POWER ME UP puzzle? Crystal mines in abyss 3rd level.

Solution:
SpoilerShow
You have to hit the acceptor - the statue - with thunder bolt spell. You can use spell from mage, or use the spell from sword you find in abyss - i couldnt do that because i didnt have str + con together and my mage didnt know the spell so I hit it with thunder bolt BOMB. I t worked
