So on the common/first ending, the adventurers do well enough to acquire access to an airship in order to return home. However, they still failed the Island Master's test.
On the secret/bonus ending, the adventurers go one step further, are able to find the fifth shrine and summon the Essence of Balance, place the essence on the respective statue, and defeat the Trickster/Island Master. With this, they prove themselves worthy of being the guardians of the words of creations, which were left on this world by the ancestor spirits. It was also pretty neat to see Mount Grimrock in the book, in the cinematic.

The endings were great (though I would not have shown the characters in the cinematics, as those four guys were not the four guys I played with the entire game), only problem with the endings is that they left me wanting to play more and there's no more game to play!
The Trickster/Island Master fight was not particularly difficult, though. Yeah, I play on Normal, but I thought it'd be much harder. It started well enough with the fireballs bouncing around the teleporters, but it quickly evolved to an usual dodge and strike pattern. The Master himself had super speed and the ability to summon clones, which were cool additions, but I still feel I took him down without too much hassle.
Anyways, could be funny if now that we are the guardians of the words, we could control the island as the Master does, preparing traps for other shipwreck survivors and what not.
What did you guys think of the endings?
