I was thinking either trait or race, a class never came to mind, this would work much better as a class.Sir Tawmis wrote:I could see like a Werebear class. Someone else had suggested Catfolk similar to the ones seen in Wizardry (and probably other games, but Wizardry is where I saw them first). Some cool suggestions for the Catfolk too. I think with a mod, making Catpeople or Bear people (or even Bear trait) might be entirely possible. It's way beyond my own skill, but this forum has a lot of talented folks!

Aye, that would be a whole different story!Sir Tawmis wrote:I could see like a Werebear class.
A Werebear - or a Were-creature of any kind - could even be in normal form by day and Were-form by night so you basically play two characters at once, depending on daytime.

^ This is why I thought it would be a cool class. Because you could still pick a human as your race, but then Were-Bear as a class. So you'd fight like a "barbarain" during the day, and perhaps have special (cut/claw type attacks).Dr.Disaster wrote:Aye, that would be a whole different story!Sir Tawmis wrote:I could see like a Werebear class.

Even go further that your "second weapons" are automatically claws, and thus can't be equipped with anything else. And not usable during the day, and become functional during the night (and your regular weapons become impossible to use during the night). So it would operate like things that require specific traits and you're not skilled enough to use it, when it's not in effect.
So a code in the program that's something like:
If Day=1 then Werebear=1; otherwise Werebear=0
So as long as Werebear is =1 to you can't use werebear attacks. You'd use normal fighter attacks.
You could even do it as a Race, if not a class. So you pick Werebear race (and say that Lycanthropy only effects humans, so your race would be Human during the day).
Then during the night, you become a werebear, and see above that can't use regular weapons, but then your second equipped weapons become the claws/bite attack, and have a great chance of causing Wound on enemies and bleeding (damage over time) etc.
