Block A is the one you first see. Block B is by the mouth. Push block A all the way forward (East). Go around it and push it all the way back. Open the passage using the hidden button. Move block B over one. You're supposed to move block B West one and push the button to shoot the stone mouth at the target and open the gate on the South side. However if you instead go back and push block A to the East again, you've still got that south gate blocked, and now you can't go through the center of the puzzle because you've got block A in the way, and you can't push it forward this time because block B is behind it.
Yeah, I had that response at first, but really this sort of thing should be avoided regardless. Someone might make those moves if they don't know what they are doing.
I think this can be avoided if the blue platform furthest south and west doesn't activate until the gate lowers. That puts you in a situation where once you move a block to the spot next to it, you have to lower the gate to move on (but you'll always be able to).
Another option would be to remove the metal grill in the center. It being there doesn't remove the need to lower the south gate to finish the puzzle, but would make sure you can't ruin the puzzle. Although I do think it would probably look better with it there, it doesn't add anything to the puzzle complexity. Maybe the one thing it does is show you that you can push a block when on the other side of that type of obstacle, but it's not required to put a block in that spot anyway.
I think most people solve the first puzzle of the statue face shooting the projectile to open the gate before they find that hidden button. Another solution would be to have a 2nd gate behind that hidden button wall.
You can't solve the first puzzle of the statue face shooting the projectile without finding the hidden button. You have to get on the other side of the block in front of the statue face in order to move it out of the way.

If you jam them both up against the side, yes, but they don't start in that position. I solved the statue face shooting puzzle before I found the button.
One of the blocks starts in the position in front of the stone mouth. I don't know if it always did so (I vaguely recall pushing a block through the metal wall the first time I did that puzzle), but it's there now, and requires the button to be found.
