To my disappointment, we have all of the grimrock monsters available in Grimrock 2 but some monsters cannot be used because the sound files are not found. Goromorg and Scavenger for sure have missing sound files. But others, like Snail have them. To clarify, I know we never get access to the .wav files themselves and that is fine, but the game reports that the files referenced are not found, meaning they are not in Grimrock2.dat either.
I really wanted Scavengers so I grabbed a mic and made some sounds... Ugh, wish I had the real ones. Am I missing something here or are we just out of luck?

That is a good question. I have the same problem lol
Re: Some Grimrock 1 monster sounds are missing
They probably licensed them from a library, and did not use them [did not pay to use them again] in Grimrock 2.
Ask, and someone around here will likely make replacement sounds.

Maybe relevant.
Some sounds used in the games could be used in your own mods, if you find them elsewhere with compatible licenses. E.g. this sound used in Grimrock 1's ending is Creative Commons.

You know what's wild? The Windows XP shutdown sound seems to have made it into the mix in the dungeon track of Grimrock 1; (at around 1:08) Probably an accident... it's certainly out of place.
