I did actually apply it to a plane to get the snapshot of it. The other atlases had padding trim on the sides... so it might be the same with the conditions atlas.

It is 128x160. And wouldn't it have been easier to use drawImage for that?

It could have.
In this case I had been tinkering with material replacements, and when the thought came, I just popped in the path for conditions.
