@HansBleed : I assume you mean the Underwater breathing spell (unless I did a typo somewhere) : Allow a party to breath underwater. A useful spell :D
About the riddle : look around, you should be able to find some clues.

is there another merchandiser in the game.. the rattler is completle sold out with potions, healing chrystal end everything for healing etc i am now in the city of the lost souls and i am go often dead by the many undead and the creators.. you cannot rest in the whole game and for healing there are 2 or 3 speaking stoneheads in the game.. i am now by the soulgem puzzle with the hungry treasure chests. i died there also often i defeated also the rattle boss in the mine but lower you can made a fire essence by 2 blacksmitthy,s... you must cross a level with very much spiders... the water essence woman i cannot find her.. not in the castle and not in the lower beach levels.. the castle entrance wont be open.. i think there i a secret passage in the lost soul city..
i am now level 17 13 levels visited with a playtime of 12 hours..one of the best mods!!!! i think i payed more then25, a 30 custom mods now..

About the Lady of Water

The entrance to the inner shrine is inside the flooded and abandonned temple ( in the beach area, there is two entrance, one North, one South). It's located in the eastern part of the flooded temple. There is a simple underwater puzzle to solve to unlock the entrance (again, underwater). You need the Underwater spell to avoid drowning.

about the underwater temple.. i tried to activate some presure plates by one it was very difficult to trow something.. first you must shoot a frostbolt in a predicator and you see a magic bridge that you can walt to a secret roor.. on the hals you must throw a stone ore something.. but nothing came upon the plate.. and the fire and ice trial i was killed in 2 minutes on that place
im the mod i played before this lost city by adrageron.. i get a underwaterbreatig spell for exploring thew subken city.. as i tried to use the same symbol the spell fizzles or crashed!!

i am now in the highest building of the lost souls city, and i meet the gravedigger... in the nortwell building i i can use one of my favorite fighting methodes.. jump on a enemy.you dont get experience points for it but dead = dead!!!i made on that way a happy end of ome of the most difficult grimrock 2 custom mods.. the crack of doom made by lord foul one of the best ,mods also.. https://youtu.be/kUh1wI-dW20

@hansbleeb : About the pressure plate underwater, here is what you need to do :

Simply leave an object on the pressure plate. Two of the pressure plate are a bit far away, so you need to throw different object with different weight if you want it to land exactly on the pressure plate. For example, a heavy weapon.
A little anecdote concerning this puzzle :

One of the puzzle I implemented a year ago, used pressure plate. It was a puzzle that required severals "steps" to complete, but I didn't know about the physics/gravity and the weight of the object that was implemented in Grimrock. In otherwords, the weight of the object you throw will affect how far they go. One of my beta tester, she send a heavy object right on the proper plate, bypassing the whole puzzle in a single throw. My jaw brokes and I had to rethink the whole puzzle ! :lol:
Concerning the water spell, it's not the same water spell that you might have encountered in others mods, but the effect/implementation should be very similar. I beleive mine is from AndarkRainor (not sure, I did use some of his spells in his spell pack though - credited of course). It's not the same "gesture" too. I just re-tested and I couldn't reproduce any crash with a the "wrong" gesture of the spell though with the screenshot you provided.

About the frostbolt and the magic bridge :

Once you cast the frostbolt in the "pipe"/receptor, walk on the moving magic bridge, you will find a passage on the left. Now, you must be really quick. Kill the creature, get the spoils on the altar and run to the magic bridge, which continued to move ahead. If you were quick enough, you will be able to step on it and move to a secret area.
You are correct, the fire and ice trial is really hard, even for me !

This trial is actually divided in two part. In the first part, you need to find and activate a lever. That will add a magic bridge to the second part. Reaching the "safe" spot in the first part of the trial require you to dodge the fireball and frost bolt. If you look at the pressure plate, you can see which one will send a frostbolt, and which one will send a firebolt. There is also another trick : Use the Force Field spell as a shield against some of the magic bolt by casting it between you and the projectile, or casting the force field around you ! ;)
Now the second part, you will cross the water and look carefully at the plate and test them to "feel" the delay. They aren't as fast as those in the first part. It's on purpose. On the second part, you will have to fight a mini-boss : an Ice elemental, while walking and avoiding his projectile and those coming from the ceiling. There is a safespot on the left, with no plate. Also, there is a red pressure plate. Stepping on it will throw fire balls. This can be use against the Ice Elemental. This whole trial has at least two smaller secrets !

he northen well of souls are for me also a big question i teleport from tower to tower fromthe hall to the mausoleum and plettering with some luck some enemy,s going outside from the mausoleum is pure suiside with that hungry and very agressive plant outside. one one point above the tower i read something about you feel the bloodlust em manating from the syche of the 2 items to activate a altar on a place where tou meet the grave ddigger from the first time

About the "plants"

You don't need to kill them, they are very very strong, but they are killable. If my memory serves me well, they are undead, so the searing light spell, if you have it, will help you.

back at the ice trial.. i teleported directly back to the entrance when i do a step on one of the plates..
and all off the undead skelletons and paralize monsters and the red slimes are made a very quick end for me at the northen well of souls level of this mod...
