I've done WOlf3D, Spear of Destiny, Quake, etc. Did a ton of Duke 3D levels...I'm actually thinking of doing up the first map of Grimrock in Duke just for kicks; there's some decent wall designs that should work nicely. It's been a while since I've played with a newer editor.

I assume you mean for LoG, they aren't released yet but the developers are working on them.

I`ve made levels user maps for deus ex and half life 1. I`ve also done some work with quake 1.
Not sure if this will help me but i honestly am looking forward to make levels to LOG.

It depends on what game you're trying to mod for...your best best is to do a Google search. If you're looking to mod Grimrock, the tools haven't yet been released.

Lets see, I first made levels starting with Doom and Heretic, but they were pretty crappy.
Duke3d was where I really started to get it, made a rather epic little number that had a whole spy infiltrating a foreign city feel, infiltrating the sewers, blowing up the gentlemans club etc. It is vaguely possible it exists on a floppy disk somewhere. Not that we can access those anymore.
Did a single Quake I deathmatch level that was utterly hilarious for my server back in the day, full of silly spike traps and suchlike. It would have drove DM purists mad, but my friends loved it. The dash for the lightning gun in the centre of the lake became legendary.
Then the Original UT had about 5 levels. The magnum-opus was one of those, a creepy alien facility CTF level. I actually saw most of these on a random backup CD the other day when browsing through discs.
Things kinda stopped after that. My creativity instead went into making my now published Anime RPG system, I guess.
Anyway, on topic, I'd love to see some editor tutorials, and will help with making them if I have the time.

Does any one know a ballpark figure of when the editor is going to come out?

All we know is that it will be worked on after the first patch. When that is, I don't think we know yet.

I made a few modules for NWN2. Great engine and fun to design with!
I'm looking forward to cracking open the LoG toolset. I'm also interested to see how much room there will be for customization (models, scripting, sounds, etc...).
Good luck with the tutorials, I'll definitely be checking those out!

I think I will make a video showcasing one of my NWN 2 areas. I accidently lost most of my maps but I think I still have one or two on a thumb stick.
