Agreed. I'm installing only quality software selected by me after long planning. No demos, shareware, or trials. Sometimes it is useful to look at youtube for presentations if I need some tool because it is often revealed that programs are not doing things in the way I want.

I've just switched to high. Still no visible impact on speed of the game. Done some timed puzzles with no real problem.
At the moment I'm playing in window.

Well I am playing on single core Sempron 64 at 2.0 ghz with Radeon 2600 HD Pro with 256 MB ram and game runs just fine. Only at some places at last levels I had to lower details a bit. Still playable.

Glad to hear it can run ok on lower spec systems, I can't play it yet because my Video Card X800 PRO does not support Pixel Shader 3.0

Now I know ppl will say I should upgrade my old system & they are probably right but I play alot of older games & even the newer ones I have bought run ok.
I bought this game on 'Good old Games', I get games from here because I know I have a low spec PC that can't run the new games with all the bells & whistles. It's not a big deal for me as I will first purchase a video card that does support 3.0 & then later build a new system, but I wonder how many ppl will buy it from 'GOG' without realising it needs a half decent gaming rig & can't play it ?
Anyway I will be up & running very soon, Game looks great & being a fan of the older gen dungeon crawlers like DM, CSB, EOB & Black Crypt I'm really looking forward to this one

I did. However I am in much worse situation as I have laptop with Mobility Radeon 9800 supporting Pixel Shader 2.0 only. It can't be upgraded anymore.

Has anyone with a machine below the minimum reqs had trouble in the last level? My computer is around the recommended specs (AMD quad core @ 3.0 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, ATI/AMD 4870 1 GB), and I encountered some lag there. I couldn't see anything so resource consuming on that level.

pentium m780 dothan 2.26@2.7ghz / cm Asus p4p800 dlx / ATI Radeon HD 3850 (AGP) (core 670 / mem 830)
No lag, perfectly fluid in all situations.
But I have this

Thanks to
badhabit I am able to check actual number of FPS in game. In normal corridor I can see ~30fps, in Maze of Madness (bigger area with lots of teleports) ~18fps.

I'm playing it on an HP 8710w laptop running (drumroll)
Windows 2000 SP4
Yes, really. That said, for LoG to run I have to install the unofficial post-EOL patches from msfn.org, especially KB2392802 and KB2508429 (which themselves depend on earlier unofficial patches on the site).
It does run fine, however, with the patches installed
